Possible to not cancel target when dropping AoD
Last week, I've been trying some new, lame idea, involving aura of displacement and scorpion wire.. Before flaming me to hell and saying stuff like 'WTFn00b, d0n't t4k3 Scorpion Wire', my question isn't about my build.
Rather, I found that when I cancel Aura of Displacement, I lose my current target. Since I kinda use AoD in an offencive way, I was wondering, is there ANY way at all to avoid losing track of my target, and not failing my followup because 'c'/misclick+falling spider/lotus strike animated on the wrong target (or none at all even.)
Thank you in advance and sorry for my poor usage of the english language.

Simply call your target before you spike, and hit 'T' (or whatever it's set to) and you'll target them. The only problem is if someone else calls someone in that time, which would screw you up. Also, after you've stepped back to the foe, you could use the target nearest button, since when you shadow step to a foe, you're always as close as possible to them. Either way should work.

The target calling would work, apart from when it's overcalled. That's true and thanks for that tip! About target nearest though, it doesn't (nearly) always work when there's more foes in that same area. But apart from that there's no way to work around it?

Unless there's a setting that allows you to cancel maintained enchantments with a key, I think that's about your only option.

cancelling maintained enchants in any way will always make you target yourself, or the guy you cancelled the enchantment from.
this is of course, if no other source is cancelling it (such as enchant removal from other sources, or things like cop)

Well I suppose you could try to cancel AoD (and thus trigger Wire) when the intended target is not in the middle of a mob...
Or you could take some more risk, a KD lasts 2 sec, Wire aftercast izwut 0.5 sec? while the Falling animation also takes about 0.5 sec. Which would leave you ~1 sec to adjust your position a bit to make sure before hitting C-Falling.
Numbers are off I knoez. But I've tried, and it's possible.

press the "target next" and "target previous" buttons at the same time will automatically lock yourself back to your last target, assuming it has not died or run off of your radar.

Thanks for the advice on this one, although the intended goal is not to just hit my chain, it's to hit it as fast as possible.. using that 1 second to make sure I hit the right target is better spent unleashing my combo. Thanks anyway though, it's been very helpful.

I don't know why, but for some reason this places me back to the target who I placed AoD on :S, and that's far from always the target I'll be spiking.
Again, thanks for the replies guys!
